In April 2021, Shannon Greene-Spanolios was appointed as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine and Performance after serving as the head athletic trainer from 2017-2021.

Along with continuing her duties as the head athletic trainer, Greene-Spanolios will oversee all day-to-day internal operations of the department including sports medicine and athletic performance along with being responsible for the supervision of the sports medicine and athletic performance staff. She will oversee the athletics performance department to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual athletes needs.

Additionally, Greene-Spanolios continues to be in charge of developing the overall sports medicine program. The program includes injury prevention, injury evaluation, concussion protocol, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, proper record keeping and educational programs for student-athletes.

Greene-Spanolios serves as the advisor of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) which was awarded the 2021-22 LeeAnn Noble Most Improved Award by the Peach Belt Conference for funds raised towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She is also the sport administrator for women's cross country.

Greene-Spanolios, MPA, ATC, LAT, finished her third year at Columbus State University and her first as an assistant athletic trainer during the 2016-2017 school year after spending the previous two years working as a graduate assistant. At CSU, she worked with the Lady Cougars softball, tennis and soccer teams.

She joined the Columbus State staff after receiving her bachelor's of science in athletic training from the University of South Florida. At USF she gained experience across the athletic spectrum, working with men's and women's soccer, volleyball, cross country and track. Greene-Spanolios also worked with three area high schools.

Greene-Spanolios graduated with her master's degree in Public Administration from Columbus State in May of 2016.

Greene-Spanolios resides in Americus, Ga. where she lives with her husband Nick and their son Nico.
