Greene Hired As Head Athletic Trainer

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University athletics has announced the hiring of Shannon Greene as head athletic trainer for the 2017-18 school year.  

"I'd like to thank Athletic Director Mike Leeder for giving me this opportunity," Greene said. "I'm really looking forward to getting to know the Georgia Southwestern student-athletes and watching them succeed on and off the field."

Greene, ATC, finished her third year at Columbus State University and her first as an assistant athletic trainer during the 2016-2017 school year after spending the previous two years working as a graduate assistant. She worked with the CSU tennis teams and the Lady Cougars soccer team during the year.

She joined the Columbus State staff after receiving her bachelor's of Science in Athletic Training from the University of South Florida. At USF she gained experience across the athletic spectrum, working with men's and women's soccer, volleyball, cross country and track. Greene also worked with three area high schools.

Greene graduated with her master's degree in Public Administration from Columbus State in May of 2016.
