Morgan and Towells Named Top Performers in November

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Men's basketball player Jalen Morgan and women's basketball player Morgan Towells have been named the Georgia Southwestern State University Department of Athletics top performers for the month of November.

Morgan, a 6-foot-8 graduate student from Indianapolis, Ind., was the team leader in both points (15.3) and rebounds (8.0) averaged over the four games played in November. He posted a pair of double-doubles and made 61.9 percent of his shots. Morgan's best performance came on Nov. 14 against Fort Valley State in the Hurricanes lone home game of the month when he made 9 of 12 shots, all three free throw attempts, finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Towells, a 5-foot-8 junior from Atlanta, Ga., led the team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and dished out the most assists (14) on the squad over the Lady Hurricanes five games. She was accurate from 3-point range (45.5 percent) and added 4.4 rebounds per contest. Towell's best performance came in the season opener on Nov. 9 when she dropped 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had seven steals against Limestone College.
