Prior to arriving at GSW, Cook spent the 2017-18 season as primary contact for the national-ranked women's bowling team at Arkansas State University, where he promoted the 3x NCAA Women's Bowling Player of the Year. Along with serving as the secondary contact for the women's tennis team, Cook assisted the SID staff with game-day operations for the other sports teams and helped with daily updates of the Red Wolves' athletics web site. 

While at A-State, he was a graduate assistant for the Sport Management Department and served as the President of the Sport Management club where him, along with several other students, received chances to volunteer and work hospitality suites at the 2017 Women's Final Four, 2017 Walkons Independence Bowl and at the 2018 Men's Final Four.

Cook, a native of Baton Rouge, La., received his M.S. in Sport Administration from Arkansas State University and his B.A. in Mass Communications from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
