The Georgia Southwestern women's tennis team travelled to Melbourne, Fla. this past weekend and took part in the four-team Florida Tech Panther Invitational. The Lady Hurricanes joined Palm Beach Atlantic, Eckerd College and host Florida Tech on the court for the three-day event. GSW was led by sophomore Ginny Jones, who went 2-1 in the singles "B" draw to capture the consolation title.

A look back at 2010-11
The 2010-11 academic year proved to be one of milestones and memories for the Georgia Southwestern Athletics Department as the Hurricanes enjoyed their most successful year in Division II since making the move from NAIA to NCAA in 2006-07. Improvements came on the field, as GSW saw a 27.7 percent increase in total wins from 2009-10, and in the classroom, as the Hurricanes had a 47.1 percent jump in All-Academic selections.
