VALDOSTA, Ga. - The Valdosta State Blazers scored nine runs off seven hits in the first three innings on their way to a commanding 12-4 victory against the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes.

GSW (6-16) finished with seven hits on the evening paced by sophomore Les Cromer who contibuted a pair of hits for the 'Canes.

Neal Chambliss chipped in a pair of RBIs for the Blue and Gold who dropped their fourth consecutive game.

Starting GSW pitcher Earl Dupree (0-5) threw for 2.1 innings giving up seven runs off five hits and was credited with the loss for the Hurricanes.

VSU (9-10) was led by junior starting pitcher Ben Watson (1-1) who pitched three scoreless innings off only one hit, while striking out four.

Southwestern will be back in action Thursday as the Hurricanes travel to Albany State for a 5 p.m. EST. matchup.
