FLORENCE, S.C. - Georgia Southwestern State University senior outfielder Evan Alderman was named to the 2017 Peach Belt Conference All-Tournament baseball team following the championship game at Sparrow Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Alderman went 6-for-11 (.545) over the Hurricanes three games in the tournament with a double, two runs batted in and four walks.
The Oxford, Ga., native went 2-for-4 with a walk in the opening game against top seed, and No. 2 in NCAA Division II, North Georgia. On Thursday evening, he reached base safely in all six trips to the plate in the elimination game win over No. 4 seed Columbus State University. Alderman turned in a 4-for-4 performance with two walks against the Cougars.
Alderman wrapped up his collegiate career having started 172 games for GSW, posting a .330 batting average and leaving as the all-time program leader for hits in a career with 229. He's the fourth PBC All-Tournament selection for GSW in program history, the first since 2010.
