AMERICUS, Ga. - Georgia Southwestern State University infielder Alex Kranick earned honorable mention on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) 2017 All-Southeast Region baseball team released Wednesday evening.

Kranick, a senior from Tampa, Fla., started all 49 games this spring for the Hurricanes and led the team in several categories, including: batting average (.417), hits (83), total bases (104) and doubles (16). His 22 multi-hit games were a team best and he shattered the school record with a 30-game hitting streak. He finished the regular season ranked third in the Peach Belt in batting average, sixth in hits and 10th in walks.

Kranick tied the Peach Belt Conference Tournament record for most hits in a game with his 5-for-6 performance against Columbus State on May 11. He becomes the first player in program history to earn postseason recognition from the NCBWA.
