GSW Announces Change in Baseball Leadership

AMERICUS, Ga. -– Georgia Southwestern State University athletic director Mike Leeder announced Thursday a change in leadership for the baseball program.

"We would like to thank Coach Bryan McLain for his many years of service at Georgia Southwestern and wish him the best," Leeder said. A nationwide search for the next head coach will begin immediately.

GSW posted a 10-35 record this spring with a mark of 5-25 in the Peach Belt Conference. McLain completed his 14th season at the helm for the Hurricanes in 2018 and his 23rd year as a member of the coaching staff. Under his leadership, GSW had an overall record of 274-404 (.404 winning percentage) and a Peach Belt record of 92-236 (.280).

"Competitive success is an important component of the student-athlete experience," Leeder said. "We will be looking for candidates who can provide results that closely mirror the investment our university has made in our baseball program."
