ATLANTA - Alan Arnett scored a game-high 23 points and Johathan Brooks posted his third double-double of the season by adding 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to help Georgia Southwestern remain undefeated and lead the Hurricanes to a 64-61 victory over Clark Atlanta University on Saturday evening.

GSW improved its record to 6-0, which matches the best start in program history since Southwestern joined the NCAA in 2006-07. Led by All-American Phillip Brown, GSW started 6-0 in its 2011-12 campaign.

Clark Atlanta dropped to 1-2.

Southwestern struggled from the floor in the first half on Saturday, especially from beyond the arc where the Hurricanes made 1 of 7 attempts. GSW committed 11 turnovers over the opening 20 mintues and trailed 29-21 at the break.

Clark Atlanta stretched the margin to 11 points (38-27) with 15:55 to play for its largest lead of the game. The Hurricanes managed to pull within four points at 45-41 after Darius Redding knocked down a pair of free throws but Christian Houston rattled off four unanswered points for the Panthers to put GSW behind 49-41 with 8:24 remaining.

That's when Arnett and Brooks took over. The duo combined for eight points and four rebounds over the next three minutes to captain a 10-1 run and give the Hurricanes their first lead of the game.

CSU grabbed the advantage back one final time before Redding put the Hurricanes ahead for good at 55-54 with 2:48 to play. GSW's largest lead was three points and they held it four different times down the stretch, including at the final horn.

Redding joined Arnett and Brooks in double figures with 12 points in the game and added three steals and three assists.

The Hurricanes connected on 51.7 percent of their shots in the second half to finish at 42.1 percent for the game. CSU shot 36.4 percent overall. GSW grabbed three more rebounds (44-41) and had seven more bench points (17-10).

Jarrel Joye led the Panthers with 19 points. Houston added 11 and Jordan Husley chipped in 10. Kenneth Green pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
