ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University men's basketball team couldn't slow down the Flagler College offense in the second half of their Thursday night tilt and suffered an 88-67 setback in the Flagler Gymnasium. Flagler made 19 of 28 shots (67.9 percent) over the final 20 minutes to pull away from GSW. The Hurricanes dropped back-to-back games for the second time this season to fall to 9-5 overall and 5-5 in the Peach Belt Conference while Flagler won its second straight game to improve to 6-8, 3-7 in the PBC.    

How It Happened: Andre Statam drained a pair of 3-pointers in the opening five minutes to keep the Hurricanes close early on. His second from long range put GSW ahead, 10-9, with 14:57 left in the half, but it would prove to be the Hurricanes final lead of the evening. Damerit Brown answered with a 3-pointer on Flagler's next trip down the floor to put the Saints ahead for good. A 10-2 run that followed gave Flagler its first double-digit lead, 28-17, and the Saints took an eight point lead into the break.

Flagler slowly built on its lead in the second half until a 15-6 run inside the final six minutes pushed the margin over 20 points. 

Flagler pulled down seven more rebounds in the game than GSW (43-36) and had five more steals (9-4). The Hurricanes made a season-low three free throws.

Who Stood Out: Hasaan Buggs posted his seventh double-double in the last eight games. Buggs led GSW with 21 points, behind 9-of-21 shooting, and 11 rebounds. Statam and Devin Watson scored 12 points apiece. Jason Weaver added 11 points in his first collegiate start, filling in for Quenten Taylor who had to sit out due to an injury. R.J. Sessions finished with 11 rebounds to hit the double-digit mark for the second consecutive game.
