Sessions Named Preseason All-Peach Belt Conference

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University senior guard R.J. Sessions has been named to the 2018-19 Peach Belt Conference men's basketball Preseason All-Conference team.

A native of Columbus, Ga., Sessions started all 27 games last season and led the Hurricanes in scoring (15.3 ppg), minutes played per game (34.1), 3-pointers made per game (2.5) and free throw percentage (86 percent) en route to being named Second Team All-PBC. He averaged five rebounds, which ranked third on the team. Sessions scored in double figures in 21 of the Hurricanes 27 contests, including 20-plus points seven times. He scored a season-high 30 points in an 81-72 win at Albany State on Nov. 15. The Hurricanes were 7-2 when Sessions led the Hurricanes in scoring.

Sessions stood out among the leaders in the PBC last year as well, ranked fourth in minutes played per game, third in total 3-pointers made and ninth in scoring average during the regular season.

Sessions becomes the fourth player in school history to earn the Peach Belt's preseason honor, joining Phillip Brown (2011-12), Colin Slotter (2011-12) and Anthony Sargent (2008-09).
