MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University men's basketball team was outscored 18-8 over the final 5:56 Wednesday morning and dropped a 70-60 decision to Georgia College in the Centennial Center. 

In front of 4,628 fans on Education Day, GSW was 1 of 10 from beyond the arc in the second half and Georgia College had 10 more steals (11-1) and seven more assists (9-2) over the final 20 minutes.

The Hurricanes road woes continue as they have yet to win a game outside of Americus this season (0-7) and fall to 2-9 overall. GSW dips to 0-5 in Peach Belt Conference play. Georgia College won its second consecutive game and improved to 7-5 overall and 2-4 in the PBC.   

How It Happened: Jalen Morgan made 5 of 9 shots and scored 10 points in the first half to guide the Hurricanes to a nine-point lead at the break, 37-28. GSW shot 50 percent (16 of 32) from the floor and outrebounded the Bobcats, 23-14, to build its largest lead of the game.

The nine-point cushion quickly evaporated as Georgia College scored the first seven points of the second half in 81 seconds. 

The teams went back-and-forth over next 11 minutes. The Hurricanes held their final lead, 50-48, with 7:26 on the clock, but a 3 1/2 minute scoring drought opened the door for Georgia College to regain control and pull away for the win.  

GSW (42.9 percent) finished with a higher shooting percentage than Georgia College (35.7 percent) and grabbed six more rebounds (42-36), but committed 14 more turnovers (18-4).  

Who Stood Out: The Bobcats had a pair of starters post double-doubles. Kohl Roberts scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Isaac Thomas added 14 points and 11 boards. Jordan Thomas led all scorers with 23 points.  

Devin Watson made 3 of 5 from 3-point range and led the way for GSW with 14 points. Morgan scored 12. Kwei Lartey finished a point shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
