Dean Named PBC Player of the Week

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern men's basketball player Jamari Dean was named Peach Belt Player of the Week, announced Monday morning by the leauge.

The sophomore forward from Ellenwood, Ga., scored 19.5 points with 13.5 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the field, averaging a double-double as the Hurricanes picked up a pair of wins last week.  

He opened with 19 points and 15 rebounds in a 72-68 win at Fort Valley State, then had 20 points with 12 boards in a home win over Middle Georgia. He added six assists in the Middle Georgia game and seven of his 12 boards were on the offensive glass. He also added three blocks and two steals for the week. 

Dean leads the PBC in rebounding and is fifth in scoring. 

This is Dean's first conference award as he is now the 13th men's basketball player to earn the award.
