Canes Drop From Second to Ninth After Two Rounds in McDonough
The GSW golf team shot a collective 1-under in the morning round at the State Farm-Laker Collegiate Classic in McDonough on Monday. The 287 score was good for the second lowest opening round in the 14-team tournament. The afternoon round, however, did not bode as well for the 'Canes as GSW struggled to shoot a plus-13 301.
The 588 total places GSW ninth heading into day two. Top-ranked West Florida leads with a 5-under 568, six strokes ahead of fourth-ranked Georgia College & State University (577) and nine shots ahead of 12th-ranked Lander University (580).
Individually for GSW, Tyler Williams (67-78=145) is tied for 16th place amongst the 84 golfers in the field. Jordan Britt (73-73=146) tied for 27th; Michael Harris (76-71=147) is tied for 29th; Reese Moseley (71-81=152) and Adam McKenney (76-79=155) are tied for 65th and 74th, respectively.
