Senior Adam McKenney's 2-under-par 69 led the GSW golf team to a 10-over-par 294 on Monday afternoon in the first round of the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational at the Country Club of Columbus.  McKenney heads into Tuesday's final round trailing the leader Jude Eustaquio of Florida Southern by one stroke.  Host No. 11 Columbus State leads the 17-team field at even par(284).      

In a tournament loaded with nationally ranked teams - seven of the top ten in the country, GSW is three strokes ahead of No. 6 Valdosta State University and No. 9  Barry University, one stroke behind the top-ranked team from West Florida and two strokes behind No. 2 USC Aiken.

The Hurricanes finished day one ahead of two Peach Belt Conference rivals.  The 'Canes are two shots ahead of No. 12 Clayton State University (296) and ten shots ahead of UNC Pembroke (304).

Rounding out the individual performances for GSW, Reese Moseley (74) is tied for 37th, Tyler Williams (75) tied for 47th, Michael Harris (76) is tied for 51st and Jordan Britt (78) tied for 70th place amongst the 89 golfers in the field.
