Gibson finishes third, 'Canes take 10th at Queens Invite
The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team finish tied for 10th in the 17-team field on Tuesday at the Queens Invitational in Ponte Vedra, Fla. Sophomore Craig Gibson followed his opening round even par with a 2-under (70) on Tuesday, to finish third in the individual standings.
Freshman Nate Gahman also posted a top-10 individual performance for the Hurricanes, finishing tied for eighth with an even par (70-74=144) at the TPC Sawgrass Valley Course.
Rounding out the individual scoring for GSW, J.P. Griffin (78-79=157) tied for 67th amongst the 89 golfers in the field; while Reese Moseley (82-79=161) and Dustin Chapman (85-82=167) were in the #4 and #5 slots on the Hurricanes' scorecard.
Barton College shot a pair of even par rounds (288-288=576) to take the team title. Sixth-ranked Florida Southern finished five strokes back to finish second.
Matt Stauch from Florida Southern won the individual title with a 4-under (73-67=140).
GSW (302-302=604) finished in the top 10 in each their four fall tournaments.
