KILLEN, Ala. - The 25th-ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team shot a 3-over-par 291 on Tuesday at the TVA Credit Union Classic to move up four spots from Day 1 and finish the tournament in sixth place out of 15 teams.

Matthew Whittaker led the Hurricanes with a three-round total of 222 (+6) at the 7,133-yard Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club. Whittaker shot a 1-over 73 on Tuesday to finish the event tied for 23rd overall in the 77-player field.

Nate Gahman carded the 'Canes low score on Day 2 with a 71 and climbed 11 slots in the standings to finish tied for 26th. Gahman played the par 5s at 6-under for the tournament which was the fourth-best performance of the field. The rest of the Hurricanes combined to shoot even par on those holes. 

J.P Griffin and Anders Olsson posted final rounds of 72 and 79, respectfully, and finished the tournament tied for 29th and 43rd. Griffin had 35 pars over the two days which tied for 11th.

Andrew Ritchot provided the fourth score towards GSW's team total on Tuesday with his 3-over 75.

No. 4 North Alabama shot a final round of 282 to climb past Rollins for the team championship with a tournament total of 860. Southwestern ended with a 895.

Scott Lamb from Rollins captured individual medalist honors with a sizzling 10-under-par 206.

GSW returns to the links in February for the spring portion of its 2012-13 schedule.
