DAHLONEGA, Ga. - Chris Low advanced to a playoff for the individual title and teammate Nicholas Ward finished in third place out of 73 participants to lead the Georgia Southwestern men's golf team to a second-place finish in the team standings at the two-day, three-round North Georgia Fall Invitational that concluded Tuesday at Achasta Golf Club.

Low finished in a two-way tie for the lead with Nicklaus Kennedy from Carson-Newman College after Tuesday's final round. The pair matched scores on three playoff holes in sudden death before Kennedy edged out Low for the individual medalist honors.

Low fired a 54-hole total of 7-under 209 which ties the GSW program record. Low attacked the par-72, 6967-yard course with rounds of 68, 71 and 70.

Ward finished a shot off the pace of the leaders. His 69 in the final round matched Kennedy and tied for second-lowest round of the day.

Fraser Johnston shaved two strokes off his Round 2 score and finished tied for 27th. Anders Olsson knocked four strokes off is Round 2 score and carded a 74. Hayes Dupree tied for 48th at 12-over par.

The Hurricanes made up six shots on the Day 1 leader, Lander University, but it was not quite enough to catch the Bearcats who edged out GSW by three strokes for the team title with a 5-under 859. The 862 score by GSW ranks second-lowest in program history.

GSW returns to the links on October 27 for its final tournament of the fall season, the Rock Barn Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University at the Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, N.C.
