EATONTON, Ga.-Nicholas Ward shot a 70 in Round 2 at the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College on Monday to lead the Nationally Ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team to sit in eighth of 17 teams after Day 1.
Of the 17 teams 10 are ranked in the Top-30 of the latest Golfstat Head-to-Head Rankings, seven of which are in the Top-10.
The Hurricanes moved up four spots from Round 1 after shooting a tournament low 291 in Round 2 on the 70-par, 6730 yard course at Cuscowilla Golf Club.
GSW is 27 strokes behind the tournament leaders No. 8 Lynn who posted a two-round, seven-over par 567. No. 2 St. Leo sits in second with a two-round 580 while defending NCAA DII National Champions Nova Southeastern (No. 4) sits in fourth with a 583.
Ward moved up 26 spots from Round 1 and is tied for 13th of 90 golfers with a two-round, five-over par 145. Ethan Chamineak posted a 74 in Round 1 and 73 in Round 2 to sit tied for 25th.
Both Hayes Dupree and Fraser Johnston posted a 77 in Round 1 and a 74 in Round 2 to sit tied for 47th and Tyler Barker is tied for 75th with a two-round 157.
The Hurricanes begin their final round of play Tuesday morning.
