ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- Ethan Chamineak posted a tournament low 70 to lead the nationally ranked Georgia Southwestern men's golf team at the Peach Belt Conference Championship at the Slammer & Squire Course at the World Golf Village.
The No. 18 Hurricanes moved up two spots after posting a 298 in Round 2 to sit in fourth of 11 teams heading into the final round on Sunday.
GSW is one stroke behind third place No. 12 USC Aiken and nine stokes behind No. 15 Flager who is in second. Columbus leads the tournament with a one-over par, two-round 577.
Chamineak shot six birdies in Round 2 and moved up four spots to sit tied for second out of 55 golfers heading into the final round.
Anders Olsson and Nicholas Ward both started Round 2 with a birdie. Olsson shot two more birdies and posted a 75 in to sit in eighth with a two-round 146. Ward shot three more birdies to post a tournament low 72 and move up 25 spots to sit tied for 20th.
Hayes Dupree sits in 40th with a two-round 156 and Fraser Johnston is in 49th with a two-round 161.
The Hurricanes will tee off Sunday for the final round at 11 a.m.
