GSW Leads Hurricane Invitational; Wells And Norrman Third

ALBANY, Ga. - The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team leads the second annual Hurricane Invitational after one round on Monday.

The Hurricanes fired a 294 to sit first of eight teams on the par 72, 7,024-yard course at Doublegate Country Club. GSW is seven shots ahead of West Alabama who sits in second with a 301 and Peach Belt Conference foe North Georgia sits nine shots back from GSW with a 303.

Alex Wells and Vincent Norrman both posted 73's in Round 1 to sit tied for third of 46 golfers. Ethan Chamineak and Nicholas Ward sit tied for sixth with 74's and Tyler Barker posted a 76 to sit tied for 12th. Nix Duncan, playing as an individual, posted a 79 to sit tied for 23rd and Fraser Johnston, also playing as an individual, sits tied for 31st with an 81.

Round 2 was suspended due to sever storm warnings. Teams will play 18 holes on Tuesday to wrap up the tournament starting at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
