GREENWOOD, S.C. -- After shooting a 296 in Round 1 the GSW men's golf team fired a 286 in Round 2 to move up five spots into a tie for fifth place with a first day score of 582 in the 18-team Bearcat Invitational played Monday at Greenwood Country Club. 

Young Harris (571) sits in first place on the Par 72 6,800 yard course while No. 16 Lincoln Memorial (575) is currently second. Lenoir-Rhyne is in third place (577) with Belmont Abbey College in fourth (580). No. 12 Columbus State posted a 582 and is locked with GSW in fifth place.       

Tyler Barker shot back-to-back even par rounds of 72 (144) to lead the Hurricanes on the individual leaderboard in 12th place. Vincent Norrman fired a 1-under par 71 in the afternoon after a morning round 74 (145) to move into a tie for 20th place.

Wil Herndez and Ryan Cahill both carded an afternoon round of 72 after shooting a 74 and 76 in the morning to tie for 26th and 36th, respectively. Nix Duncan came back from a Round 1 80 with a 1-under par 71 in Round 2 to tie for 55th place after the first day of play.     

Belmont Abbey's Levi Kettelhut is in first on the individual leaderboard after carding back-to-back 3-under par rounds of 69 (138) to finish at 6-under for the day. Harry Boyle of Lincoln Memorial is second at 5-under (139) with Lenoir-Rhyne's Dawson Walker -4 (140) in third. Valter Andersson (-3, 141) and Ryan Emery (-2, 142) of Young Harris round out the top five.   

Up Next: The Bearcat Invitational concludes Tuesday morning with the third and final round. Duncan (9:14) will start GSW off, followed by Cahill (9:23), Hernandez (9:32), Norrman (9:41) and Barker (9:50).
