ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University golf team tallied a 296 as a team to move into a tie for fourth place after Round 2 of the Peach Belt Conference Championship played Saturday at the Slammer & Squire golf course.

Vincent Norrman went under par for the second straight day, firing a 1-under 71 after shooting a 2-under round of 70 Friday to take hold of second place by himself on the individual leaderboard. Norrman's 3-under two-day score trails only Johnson Holliday (USC Aiken), who is 10-under par after carding a 66 Saturday. Gideon van der Vyer (Columbus State) is in third (-2) while Axel Ostensson (USC Aiken) sits in fourth place at 1-under par.   

The Hurricanes 296 team score was the third-best of the day on the 6,939 yard par 72 course as GSW totaled 598 (+22) after two rounds. No. 9 USC Aiken still leads the way after increasing their lead with a 277 in Round 2 that followed a 284 Friday to sit at 15-under par. No. 11 Columbus State is second with a two-day score of 575 (-1). No. 19 Young Harris is in third place, posting a 597 (+21) and No. 18 Lander is in a three-way tie with GSW and Flagler at 598 (+22).  

Tyler Barker carded a 2-over 74 to tie for 19th place at the end of the second day while Ryan Cahill shot a 4-over 76, good enough for a 31st place tie. Wil Hernandez came back from an opening round 81 to turn in a 75 and move into a tie for 37th place with teammate Nix Duncan who shot a 76 Saturday, four strokes better than his Round 1 score.   

The Hurricanes will tee off Sunday morning beginning at 8:45 a.m. as the third and final round starts on the 1st hole.
