CONOVER, N.C. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University men's golf team shot a 303 to finish with a three-round score of 893 and tie for 15th place at the NCAA DII South/Southeast Regional played at Rock Barn Golf & Spa.
Vincent Norrman and Tyler Barker both shot 4-over par rounds of 75 to lead the Hurricanes in the final round on the 6,940 yard par 71 course. Norrman finished in 19th place on the individual leaderboard at 2-over par and Barker tied for 75th overall at 14-over.
Ryan Cahill turned in a 76 to finish second on the team in a tie for 48th place and Nix Duncan carded a 77 final round score to tie for 85th. Wil Hernandez fired his best round of the tournament, shooting a 78 to round out the GSW scoring.
Top-ranked West Florida won the tournament, finishing with a score of 840 (-12). No. 2 Florida Southern (843, -9) finished as the runner-up while No. 5 Barry (853, +1), No. 6 Lynn (854, +2) and No. 18 Lincoln Memorial (868, +16) rounded out the Top 5.
John VanderLaan (Florida Southern) took medalist honors after finishing the tournament at 10-under par. Sam Broadhurst (Lincoln Memorial) took second place at 7-under par while West Florida's Chandler Blanchet came in third at 6-under par. Jacob Penny (Florida Southern) and Christian Bosso (West Florida) tied for fourth at 4-under par.
