COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern men's golfer Vincent Norrman went 1-under par 70 in the opening round, followed by a 71 on Monday to lead the Hurricanes on Day 1 at the 17-team, 89-player AFLAC/Cougar Invitational held at the Country Club of Columbus. GSW closed out the day tied in 8th place with Norrman tied for 10th on the individual leaderboard.     

The Hurricanes posted scores of 288 and 289, respectively, in the first two rounds as a team, ending with a score of 577 on the par 71, 6,515-yard course to finish the day 9 strokes behind the leader, Valdosta State (568).  

Carson-Newman currently sits in second place (569), followed by Florida Tech (570), Limestone (573) and Florida Southern (573).

Ryan Cahill shot par 142 and is tied for 17th (69-73) while Tyler Barker shot a 8-over par 150 (76-74) is tied for 63rd. Cole Madison is tied for 67th place after shooting 9-over par 151 (80-71) as Wil Hernandez sits in 75th place, shooting 153 (73-80) for the Hurricanes. 

The tournament concludes Tuesday with the first GSW tee time of the final round coming at 8:30 a.m.
