Norrman Named First 2018-19 PBC Golfer of the Week

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University junior golfer Vincent Norrman has been named Peach Belt Conference Men's Golfer of the Week as announced by the league Thursday.

Norrman finished in third place at the Cougar Invitational presented by AFLAC, shooting a 6-under-par 207 in the three rounds. The junior from Stockholm, Sweden, had the low round of the tournament with a 5-under 66 on Tuesday, which is the second-lowest (relative to par) round in the league this season. Norrman was just one stroke out of a tie for first place in the 17-team, 90-golfer field and helped the Hurricanes to a 10th-place finish. He currently leads the PBC with a 69.00 stroke average.

Norrman broke the 54-hole GSW record of 209 previously shared by Ethan Chamineak, Chris Low and Andrew Ritchot. Chamineak recorded a 209 at the 2016 Jay Jennison Cup held at World Golf Village Slammer & The Squire Course in St. Augustine, Fla. Low shot his 209 at the 2014 University of North Georgia Fall Invitational held at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga. and Ritchot matched that score at the 2013 Buccaneer Invitational held at Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach, Fla.

This is Norrman's second PBC Golfer of the Week award. His first came on March 1, 2018. He becomes the fourth Hurricane to earn multiple PBC Golfer of the Week awards during his career.
