DANIELS, W.Va. -- The Georgia Southwestern's golf team finished 12th of 17 teams after Day 1 of the NCAA DII Preview, which was hosted by GSW at Cobb Course at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia. 

Ryan Cahill led the way for the Hurricanes, finishing day one tied for 22nd in the 90-player field with a 3-over-par 145 (71-74). Vincent Norrman is tied for 27th place, shooting 4-over 146 (74-72) while Cole Madison is tied for 33rd place, shooting (74-73) for a score of 147. Cobb Course at Glade Springs is Par 71, consisting 7,080 yards. 

Elias Birkeland, who is the only Hurricane participating as an individual, is sitting tied in 68th place, shooting +7 par 149 (74-75). Tyler Barker is tied for 68th place (74-77) and Wil Hernandez is sitting in 85th place, with scores of 75 and 85 for a total of 160 to end day one. 

For teams, No. 3 Lynn is leading with a -12 par, 556. No. 1 Barry is in second place with a -9 par, 559 as No. 15 St. Mary's (TX) (575), Wingate University (578) and Southern Wesleyan (578) close out the top five in team play. 

In individuals, Lynn's Jorge Viller and Tomas Gana takes first and second place, with scores of 134 and 136, respectively. Kelley Sullivan from Chico State and Emilio Gonzales from St. Mary's (TX) are tied for third place with 137 points while Jorge Garcia from Barry is in fifth place with 138 points. 

Final round of the NCAA DII Preview is scheduled for Tuesday morning.
