VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern golf team slipped to the bottom of the rankings throughout three days of the Southeastern Collegiate, where they finished 17th of 18 teams at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
In the par 72, 7,365 yard course, GSW carded a 308 in day three to bring their final total to 898 (+34), making it their highest total this season.
Vincent Norrman carded a 73 for a 215 (-1) total as he escaped tied for 15th place. Tyler Barker carded and 76 and Cole Madison carded a 77, for scores of 224 (+8) and 225 (+9). Barker finished tied for 50th place while Madison was tied for 59th place. Ryan Cahill and Wil Hernandez had rough day threes for GSW as they carded and 82 and 84, respectively. Cahill's 234 (+18) landed him tied for 89th and Hernandez's 248 (+32) gave him the final 93 spot.
Nova Southeastern's Juan Jose Guerra stayed in first place throughout the whole tournament, as he took the individuals win, shooting a -17 par 199. Second place was taken by Morgan Egloff of Rollins College who finished with a card of 207 (-9). Max O'Hagan of Florida Tech and Alberto Castangnara from Saint Leo were tied for third place, as they both shot a 208 (-8) total. Tied for fifth place with a card of 209 (-7) were Barry's Jorge Garcia and Juan Ignacio de Giacomi from West Florida.
No. 1 Barry took home the win with a 848 (-16) card followed by No. 9 Nova Southeastern 857 (-7) and No. 2 Lynn 858 (-6). No. 6 Florida Tech 861 (-3) and No. 15 Saint Leo 864 (E) rounded out the top five teams of the Southeastern Collegiate.
GSW will return back to the green March 18-19, where they will participate in the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla.
