Norrman Cards His Way To NCAA Championship

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- Junior golfer Vincent Norrman shot scores of 74, 66 and 74 to finish two-under par 214 as he ended tied for third place in the NCAA DII South/Southeast Regional Tournament. The regionals was held at the par-72, 6,960 yard course at Misson Inn Resort & Club Golf Course.

Norrman's third place finish earned him a spot to compete in the NCAA DII Men's Golf National Championship.

Norrman's 66 card on Friday evening in Round 2 was the low round of the tournament, which moved him into first place going into Round 3. He played Saturday's front nine at two-over but was even on the back nine, with an eagle on the par-five 14th to give him the third place finish.

Norrman and Juan Jose Guerra of Nova Southeastern, who were both tied for third place, will be the only two players not on an advancing team to go to the national championship.

Giovanni Manzoni from Lynn University and Sam Broadhurst of Lincoln Memorial finished tied for first place, carding a three-under par 213.

The NCAA Championship will be held May 20-24 in Daniels, W. Va.
