Norrman Swings His Way Into The PGA European Tour

AMERICUS, Ga -- Georgia Southwestern State University golfer Vincent Norrman has received an amateur exemption to play in next week's PGA European Tour event, the Scandinavian Invitation. The tournament runs from August 22-25 and will be held at the Hills Golf and Sports Club in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is a four-round event with a cut after 36 holes.

"I'm very proud and excited that Vinny is getting this opportunity," GSW head golf coach Darcy Donaldson said. "His hard work and dedication on and off the course has prepared him for this experience."

Norrman, who is ranked 144th in World Amateur Golf rankings, will be competing as an amateur.

"I feel that he will represent not only his country, but GSW as he competes on one of the highest stages in golf," Donaldson said.

The Scandinavian Invitational will be televised on the Golf Channel.
