VALDOSTA, Ga. -- The No. 1 Georgia Southwestern men's golf team carded a tournament-low 281 (-7) during Round 3 of the Southeastern Collegiate as they jumped two spots up the leaderboard to win the tournament with an overall total score of six-under 858. The Hurricanes finished eight strokes ahead of everyone at the Par 72, 7,365 yard course played at Kinderlou Forest Club for their fourth tournament win this season.
GSW led the tournament with three total eagles as Chase McLain picked up two followed by Saksit Jairak who shot one. Vincent Norrman led the pack with 13 birdies.
Jairak shot a Round 3 low 67 (-5) to jump up 19 spots for a fifth place finish with an overall score of 214 (-4) as Norrman, who was the tournament individual winner, carded an even par 72 for a 210 (-6) final score. Simon Estrada finished tied in 11th place shooting a one-under 71 for a total score of 216 (E) followed by McLain, who jumped six spots up the leaderboard, finishing tied in 18th place with a 218 (+2) final score after shooting a one-under in Round 3. Cole Madison rounded out GSW as he finished tied in 84th place with a 17-over 233 final score.
Ronan Kleu of Columbus State, Davide Longhini of Saint Leo and Juan Giacomi of West Florida all finished tied in second place, finishing with an overall score of 213 (-3). Along with Jairak, Morgan Egloff of Rollins College and Dan Bradbury of Lincoln Memorial finished tied in fifth place with a final card of 214 (-2).
No. 6 Columbus State finished in second place with a two-over 866 final card followed by No. 14 West Florida, who carded a four-over 868 for third place. No. 2 Barry shot an eight-over 872 for fourth place while No. 16 Saint Leo finished with a total score of 873 (+9) for a fifth place finish at the Southeastern Collegiate.
GSW will tee off again March 16-17 as they will travel to Eatonton, Ga., to compete in the Bobcat Intercollegiate played at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla.
