AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern golf team carded a Round 3 score of 289 (+1), jumping one spot up the leaderboard as they finished in third place to end the Hurricane Invitational. GSW finished with a total score of 872 (+8) at the Par 72, 7,024 yard course at the Doublegate Country Club. 

Jaxson Daskalos led the Hurricanes with their sole birdie, finishing the final round with a four-under 68, his tournament best. Simon Estrada took home a fifth place finish with a 214 (-2) final score after finishing up with a 71. Chase McLain carded a 74 and finished in 12th place with a card of 218 (+2). Daskalos finished tied in 31st place while Saksit Jairak finished in 36th place, 224 (+8). Payne Sells picked up a 50th place finish with a total score of 228 (+12). Individuals Nicolas Escobar (221,+5) and Jack Tharrington (239, +23) finished in 22nd and 78th, respectively. 

No. 31 Lander won the Hurricane Invitational, shooting 288 in the final round for an 865 (+1) total score. No. 34 finished in second (869,+5) followed by GSW. No. 9 Newberry, who shot a tournament-low 283, finished in fourth place with a score of 877 (+13) followed by Carson-Newman (878, +14), to round out the top five teams. 

Newberry's Patrick Jacobs carded a tournament-low 64 to climb atop the leaderboard as he finished first in individuals with a total score of 209 (-7). Maxime Legros from Lander and Paul Murphy from Montevallo both finished tied for second place with a 211 (-5) card. North Greenville's Evans Lewis took sits in fourth with a 212 (-4) while Estrada closes out the top five teams. 

The Hurricanes will tee off again March 15-16 as they will compete in the Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by Valdosta State. They will be playing at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
