COLUMBUS, Ga. -- No. 6/8 Georgia Southwestern men's golf team shot 15-over 295 during Round 3, finishing the Aflac/Cougar Invitational tournament tied in fifth place. They carded a 40-over 880 total score at the par 70, 6,547 yard Green Island Country Club course.
The Hurricanes led the tournament with 172 pars while finishing ninth with 23 birdies.
Simon Estrada shot a 73 during Round 3 and finished in 7th place, shooting four-over 214. Chase McLain shot a 71 and finished with a seven-over 217 total score for a 13th place finish. Saksit Jairak finished in 21st place after shooting a 75 and finishing with a 11-over 221 total score followed by Jack Tharrington, who shot a 77 and finished in 51st place with a 19-over 229 total score. Nicolas Escobar shot a 76 for a 24-over 234 total score, finishing in 67th place.
GSW individuals Jaxson Daskalos carded a 75 and finished 23-over 233 while Payne Sells carded an 80, finishing with a 28-over 238 final score.
Jordan Doull of Columbus St. took home the individual title after carding two rounds of 67 for an eight-under 202 total score. Beck Burnette of Lee finished par with a 210 followed by Ronan Kleu of Columbus St. who finished one-over 211 in third place. Linus Jonsson of Lander and Alejandro Restrepo of West Florida both finished tied in fourth place with a two-over 212 total score.
Hosts No. 17 Columbus St. jumped atop during Day two, earning the first place finish with a 10-over 850 total score. No. 1 West Florida sits in second place shooting 14-over 867 while No. 11 Lee shot 27-over 867 for third place. No. 28 Valdosta St. shot 36-over 876 for fourth place. No. 8 GSW and No. 12 Georgia College finished tied in fifth place with a 40-over 880 total score.
The Hurricanes will play their final regular-season event of the year next week in Pensacola, Fla. competing in the Argonaut Invitational on April 5 and 6.
