GSW Golf Selected to Compete in NCAA DII South/Southeast Regional

AMERICUS, Ga. -- No. 11 Georgia Southwestern men's golf team will be participating in the 2021 NCAA DII South/Southeast Super Regional Men's Golf Tournament May 6-8. Hosted by Florida Southern, the tournament will be played at the Streamsong Resort - Blue course in Bowling Green, Fla.

This is the sixth time that the Hurricanes have been to the NCAA tournament. 

Playing only 21 rounds this season, GSW sits third in the Peach Belt Conference with a 289.7 scoring average. Saksit Jairak is tied in sixth place with a 71.7 scoring average while Chase McLain and Simon Estrada are tied in ninth with a 71.9 scoring average. McLain currently leads the PBC after shooting a player-low eight-under 64 at the UNG Fall Invitational earlier this season. 

GSW finished the season with one first place finish, five top five finishes and a top-10 finish. The Hurricanes shot five-under at the Southeastern Collegiate to take home the win for the second consecutive year. GSW picked up third place finishes at the Hurricane Invitational and at the Bobcat Invitational followed by a fourth place finish at the PBC Championship. 

The Hurricanes placed fifth in both the Aflac/Cougar Invitational and the Argonaut Invitational with their highest finish being 10th place at the Spring Kickoff. 

Fourth-seeded GSW is one of six PBC teams selected to the NCAA Tournament. No. 2 USC Aiken was the top seed followed by No. 3 Young Harris, No. 5 Columbus State, No. 6 Georgia College and No. 7 North Georgia.
