Dane receives school's first NCAA All-Region honor
Georgia Southwestern senior mens soccer player Christian Dane was recently named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-South Region Team.

PBC All-Academic Team loaded with Hurricanes
The Peach Belt Conference released the mens soccer All-Academic team this afternoon from the conference office. Six of the eleven players named to the team are from GSW.

Morgan named All-PBC
GSW freshman Michael Morgan has been selected to the 2008 mens soccer All-Peach Belt Conference second team. The announcement was made this afternoon at a luncheon in Evans, Ga., site of the PBC Championship Tournament.

Thomas University freshman Jonah Mukada broke up a scoreless match with a 66th minute goal and TU added another score 12 minutes later as the visiting Night Hawks defeated Georgia Southwestern 2-0, Tuesday afternoon at Hurricane Field. GSW has found themselves on the losing end of that final score in four of their last five games.

McKenney Wins Coker Invite Individual Title
Senior Adam McKenney shot a second round 3-under-par 69 Tuesday afternoon at the Orlando County National Golf Center to win individual medalist honors at the Coker College Invitational. McKenney finished the 36-hole tournament with an 8-under 136, two strokes ahead of Judson Eustaquio from Florida Southern.

Clayton State Named Preseason PBC Pick
By the slimmest possible margin, the Clayton State Lakers have been selected as the mens soccer team to beat in the Peach Belt Conference in a poll of the leagues head coaches. The Lakers took three first-place and three second-place votes to beat Lander, who had three first, two second and a third, by one point. USC Aiken was third, coming in one point ahead of fourth-place UNC Pembroke. Francis Marion, North Georgia and GSW rounded out the voting.

Watkins Featured in Columbus (Ga) Ledger-Enquirer
Even though he's surrounded on the field by other college soccer players, Clay Watkins quickly developed the sense that he had graduated to another level when he signed on this summer to play for the Panama City Pirates of the Premier Development League.
