Saints march past GSW behind strong second half

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The 16th-ranked Flagler Saints scored three goals in the second half to cruise past Georgia Southwestern, 4-0, on Wednesday evening at Saints Field.

Will Frandsen converted a penalty kick in the 43rd minute to give Flagler a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break.

The Saints added scores in the 60th, 73rd and 84th minutes to put the match out of reach.

Flagler (11-3-1, 5-2 PBC) outshot the Hurricanes on goal, 15-2, and led 8-3 in corner kicks. A total of 39 fouls were called, with 23 coming from GSW. 

GSW goalkeeper David Porley stayed busy and finished one save shy of a single-game school record with 11 stops on Wednesday. Matt Gilman made two saves for Flagler.

The Hurricanes (2-12, 1-7) close the 2010 season at home on Saturday against Alabama-Huntsville. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
