#7 Flagler shutouts GSW, 4-0

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The #7 Flagler Saints (6-1-1) proved to be too much for the Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team as the Hurricanes fell 4-0 Wednesday night at Saints Field.

The Saints scored their first goal of the night in the 22nd minute of the first half when Flagler midfielder Erland Lofsgaard took a pass from Joseph Toby to score his second goal of the season to put the Saints up 1-0.

That remained the score throughout the first half, but three second half Flagler goals put the game out of reach for GSW.

In the 52nd minute, Flagler forward Marco Padilla scored off a pass from Kevin Keenan to put the Saints up 2-0.

Padilla was quick to answer his first goal with a second as two minutes later he scored off a pass from Craig Riley as Flagler took a 3-0 advantage.

Not to be outdone, Flagler's Toby scored his second goal of the night off an assist from Stephen Pratt in the 80th minute of the match.

That proved to be the final goal of the night as Flagler prevailed, 4-0.

The Saints outshot GSW, 30-5, in addition to holding a 14-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Georgia Southwestern falls to (1-7-1) on the season and will return to the pitch this Saturday as the Hurricanes take on USC Aiken for a 3 p.m. match at Hurricane Field.
