Hurricanes Battle to a Draw

AIKEN, S.C. – The Georgia Southwestern men's soccer team traveled to USC Aiken on Saturday evening to compete in a Peach Belt Conference match. After a hard fought 110 minutes, the teams finished in a 1-1 draw.

The USC Aiken Pacers achieved the first goal in the 33rd minute. Jason King passed the ball to Armin Lang finishing the ball.

During the second half of play the Pacers, on 3 separate occasions, were given yellow cards to Jason King, Maurice Walker, and Armin Lang. During the 75th minute, Cesar Espinoza was able to find the back of the net equaling the score.

The teams continued into the second overtime with no more goals. The Pacers found themselves with one more yellow card in the 119th minute to Wayne Preddle.

Goalkeeper Joe Cullip earned three saves, compared to the Pacers goalkeeper Joshua Poissant with eight.

The Hurricanes now stand at 2-5-2 overall and 0-3-1 in the PBC.

The Hurricanes will be back on the field to play North Georgia in Dahlonega on October 12th at 3:30 p.m.
