AMERICUS - Ricky Davey scored two goals and added two assists to lead the University of Montevallo men's soccer team past Georgia Southwestern, 4-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Hurricane Field.

Davey put the Falcons on the board first with a score in the 21st minute. He assisted teammate Jeffrey Hessenberger at the 39:18 mark to help Montevallo take a 2-0 lead into the break.

Davey wasted little time getting things started in the second half as he found the back of the net at the 49-minute mark. He proceeded to assist the final Falcons goal of the afternoon as Hessenberger punched in his shot that had bounced off the post.

GSW broke up the shutout in the 79th minute when Ron Calle flicked his team-leading fourth goal of the season inside the upper-left corner of the goal off an assist from Erik Haygood.

Montevallo finished with a 14-2 shots on goal advantage and a decisive 11-0 edge in corner kicks.

Joe Cullip matched his season high with 10 saves for GSW. Brendan Ledgeway stopped one for Montevallo (5-7-0, 3-4-0 PBC).

Southwestern (2-7-2, 0-5-1 PBC) returns to the pitch on Saturday to host 6th-ranked Young Harris at 3:30 p.m. Senior Day ceremonies will take place prior to kickoff.
