COCHRAN, Ga. -- Junior Sean Mckeever flicked a deflection over the Middle Georgia State University keeper in the 86th minute to force extra time late Tuesday at Nesmith Field, but the Georgia Southwestern State University men's soccer team surrendered the golden goal in the 101st minute to suffer a 3-2 double-overtime loss in its first road match of the season.

GSW struck first when junior Divin Moke found the back of the net in the 35th minute off an assist from Bryan Zuniga for the seventh goal of his career. 

Marcos Garcia answered for Middle Georgia four minutes later. The match was tied, 1-1, at halftime.

Moments after Knights keeper Matt Wallace came up to the top of the box and made a sliding save on a one-on-one breakaway against Moke in the 82nd minute, the home team took the lead on the other end of the field off a loose ball that was bouncing around in a sea of players in front of the net. Callum Bryan made the tap in for Middle Georgia.

Mckeever and the Hurricanes rallied with the late equalizer 2 1/2 minutes later.    

The match ended 51 seconds into the second overtime with a Middle Georgia goal by Alejo Bzuroski. 

Middle Georgia finished with 11 shots on goal while the Hurricanes were held to five. The Knights held a slim 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. The teams combined for 31 fouls in a physical match with the Hurricanes whistled for 15 infractions. 

Mckeevar led the Hurricanes with four shots and Moke took two. Oneil Lewis stopped eight between the pipes for GSW.
