TIFTON, Ga. - Oliver Marshall picked up a pair of victories on Tuesday afternoon for Georgia Southwestern against Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College at the ABAC Tennis Center. Marshall had a hand in both of GSW's team points on the men's side in a 7-2 exhibition defeat. Kendall Crew won at No. 4 singles for the lone GSW victory on the ladies side. ABAC was victorious in the women's exhibition, 8-1.
GSW returns to action on Thursday with non-conference matches against Dalton State at 2 p.m. at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.
GSW MEN 2, ABAC 7
Oliver Marshall and Steven Blythe defeated the ABAC team of Deepak Vishavkama and Eymeric Chevalier at No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
Blythe pushed Vishavkama in their singles match at No. 1 before losing 7-6, 6-4. Marshall was victorious 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) at No. 3 against Ray Donovan.
GSW WOMEN 1, ABAC 8
Kendall Crew fell a few points shy of matching Marshall with a pair of wins on Tuesday. Crew and Lauren Resnick lost in a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles, 9-8 (7-3).
Crew went on to defeat Hannah Greene at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-3.
Celia del Castillo Torres had a tight match at No. 2 singles against Oriane Yehouenou, losing 6-4, 6-4.
