Men's Cross Country Finishes 9th at Willie Laster Invite

ALBANY, Ga. - The Georgia Southwestern State University men's cross country team finished in ninth place out of 10 teams at the Willie Laster Invitational hosted by Albany State University on Saturday morning. Gavin Shook paced the Hurricanes by finishing the 8K course in 35:04 for 31st place out of 82 competitors.

Peyton Sells crossed the finish line second for GSW with a time of 35:15, good for 33rd place, while Brinson Hubbard was the third GSW runner across the line in 39:38. Casen Findley finished two spots behind Hubbard with a time of 40:32. Kyle Dillard took 61st in 40:47 and James Arnold posted a time of 48:24.

Loyola University New Orleans placed five runners in the top six to finish with 17 points and comfortably distance itself from runner-up Tallahassee Community College (86) for the team title. 

Hayden Ricca from Loyola crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 26:49.

The Hurricanes return to action Saturday, Oct. 12, when they travel to Milledgeville, Ga., for the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College.
