Hurricanes Compete in First PBC Championship

LUMBERTON, N.C. -- Peyton Sells led the Georgia Southwestern State University men's cross country team on Saturday morning in the new program's first appearance at the Peach Belt Conference Championship. Sells paced the Hurricanes by completing the Luther Britt Park course (8K) in 79th place (34:30) out of 90 competitors. GSW finished 11th out of 11 schools.

Gavin Shook crossed the finish line second for GSW with a time of 35:36, four slots behind Sells. Kyle Dillard was the third GSW runner across the line, followed by Casen Findley and James Arnold.

Augusta University placed seven runners in the top 10 to finish with 29 points and distance itself from runner-up Flagler College (56) for the team title. 

PBC Runner of the Year Joshua Chepkesir from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 23:48.04.
