Lady 'Canes Get Two Wins Over Albany State

ALBANY, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern softball team (7-7) swept Albany State (3-6) Tuesday afternoon at Lady Ram Park.

GAME 1: GSW 2, Albany 1

Game one was scoreless for the first seven innings, making it go into an international tie-breaker. In an international tie-breaker the rule is each team starts the inning with the player who completed the last official at bat, as a base runner on second base. Each subsequent inning will start the same until a winner has been determined.

GSW was up at bat first and Kiley Doster was the base runner placed on second since she was the last batter out. Kendyl Carver was sent in to pinch run for Doster and Erin Steele singled to first off a bunt sending Carver to third. Steele stole second then advanced to third after Haley Goodson sent one to right field sending Carver home. Rachel McElroy grounded one out to the pitcher and sent Steele home to give GSW their second run of the game.

Albany score one run in the eighth.

GSW finished the game with 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 RBIs and 1 error.
