DAHLONEGA, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern women's softball team (15-29, 2-16) were swept by NCAA DII No. 8 ranked North Georgia College (37-5, 18-0) at Hill Stadium on Sunday.

GAME 1: GSW 0, NG 8

North Georgia had a strong first inning scoring five runs to start off the game. GSW was able to hold them off in the second but they scored three more in the third off a three run home run.

North Georgia held off the Lady 'Canes in the fourth and fifth and took an 8-0 victory after five innings.

GSW finished the game with three hits, no runs, no RBI's and no errors.

Haley Goodson (4-14) took the loss for the Lady 'Canes after pitching .1 innings. She gave up four hits, four runs, walked two and struck out zero.

Brittany Childs pitched 3.2 innings, gave up six hits, four runs, walked none and struck out one.

GAME 2: GSW 0, NG 14

North Georgia almost doubled their runs from the first game in just the first inning of game two. They started off with a one run home run and then scored 13 more runs; one off a wild pitch, one off a passed ball, one from a double, two from a single, four from triples and four off errors.

The Lady 'Canes were able to hold off North Georgia from scoring anymore runs but they left their side scoreless and lost 14-0 after five innings.

GSW finished the game with two hits, no runs, no RBI's and five errors.

Brittany Childs (5-5) took the loss for GSW after pitching .2 innings. She gave up 10 hits, 14 runs, walked two and stuck out one.

Savannah Carlisle pitched 3.1 innings, gave up five hits, no runs, walked none and struck out two.

The Lady 'Canes are home on Wednesday to host Columbus State in a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday is also Pink Day at Lady Cane Field!
