AMERICUS, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern softball team won both their games verse Emmanuel College Saturday at Lady 'Canes Field.
GSW moved to 5-5 overall while EC dropped to 2-4.
GAME 1: GSW 4, EC 2
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning when Mikela Barlow scored off a single form Allee Denney and Joshlyn Martin scored off a wild pitch to give the Lady 'Canes a 2-0 lead.
GSW scored two more in the bottom of the fifth when Ella Hawkins scored off a double from Barlow and Barlow scored off a single from Hayley Tierce.
Emmanuel scored in the sixth off a a double and scored again in the seventh off a wild pitch.
Martin was 3-3 at the plate and Brittany Davis was 2-3.
GSW finished with eight hits, four runs, three RBIs and two errors.
Kaley Sikes (W, 2-1) pitched seven innings, faced 31 batters, had eight hits, two runs, walked zero and struck out four.
GAME 2: GSW 7, EC 2
The Lady 'Canes scored three in the first inning. Barlow and Tierce scored off a double from Denney and Denney scored off a single from Sabrina Sieber.
Emmanuel scored two in the third to come within one run.
Barlow retaliated with a home run to start the bottom of the third and give GSW a two-run buffer.
GSW scored their final three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Ella Hawkins and Barlow scored off a triple from Tierce and Tierce scored off a single from Martin.
Barlow went 2-2 at the plate. Tierce, Denney and Sieber all went 2-3.
GSW finished with nine hits, seven runs, seven RBIs and zero errors.
Brittany Childs (W, 1-2) pitched seven innings, faced 27 batters, had four hits, two runs, walked one and struck out five.
The Lady 'Canes are home on Sunday to host LaGrange at 12 and 2 p.m.
