AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern State University freshman outfielder Elizabeth Wills has been named the Peach Belt Conference freshman softball player of the week in a release announced by the league Monday.

Wills hit .464 in eight games with two home runs, a double and 10 runs batted in to go along with a walk-off ninth inning single against USC Aiken on March 24.

The freshman is tied for fifth in the Peach Belt with seven home runs and is second on the team in homers, batting average (.344), and slugging percentage (.594).

A native of Orlando, Fla., Wills came up clutch to secure the sweep over USC Aiken with a one-out single that scored Hayley Tierce for her fifth RBI of the game to give the Lady Canes a 6-5 extra inning win.
