After the two teams went scoreless in the first inning the Warhawks put up at least one run in each of the next four innings, scoring two in the second and four in the third to take a comfortable lead. The big blow came on an Amy Persinger grand slam home run in the third to make it 6-0.

Elizabeth Wills and Graysen Sanders accounted for the only two hits off AUM pitcher Michaelyn Foster who improved to 5-1 after allowing just one unearned run in five innings.

The Lady Canes scored their only run in the fifth when Sanders came around to score on a Hayley Tierce sacrifice fly after she led off the inning with a single.
