AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern softball player Hayley Tierce has been named to the 2019 Peach Belt Softball Preseason All-Conference team as a utility player in a release announced by the league Tuesday.
Tierce, a senior from Warner Robins, Ga., is the all-time home run leader for the Lady Canes and finished in second place in the Peach Belt with 14 home runs last season. She started all 52 games and led GSW with a .319 batting average to go along with 47 runs batted in. Tierce hit three grand slam home runs last spring and tallied five games with four runs batted in while posting three RBIs in five different games for the Lady Canes.
Last season, Tierce helped the Lady Canes make the PBC Tournament while also picking up PBC First Team All-Conference honors as a utility player. In the PBC, she ranked sixth in RBIs and fourth with a .696 slugging percentage as she currently stands eighth with 42 career home runs. Tierce was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association 2018 NFCA Division II All-Region Second Team last season and was also named PBC Player of the Week during the week of March 26.
